October marks National Principals Month! Throughout this month, we invite the entire MESD community to celebrate and express gratitude for our principals' hard work and dedication. Our principals do a fabulous job building relationships with students and providing guidance and support. They each work diligently to ensure that every student has the chance to succeed and instill the values of hard work, integrity, and resilience.

Join the Pinto Football Team for flag football!
MHS football coaches and players will work with students in Kindergarten - 6th grade on fundamental skills and then play games on teams according to age and ability.
Sessions are Thursday nights for the next four weeks from 6:00 pm- 7:00 pm at the MHS Football field. Students will receive a t-shirt at the last session. $15.00 per child
MMS: Good morning families of MMS. This message is for the families who will have a student in 7th grade this school year. MESD has purchased brand new chromebooks for 7th graders but they will not arrive until the first week of school. Please still feel free to come Thursday 7/25 and Friday 7/26 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm for schedule pickup but just be aware that 7th graders will not receive chromebooks yet! We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow and Friday!
We are excited to welcome Mr. Oscar Ontiveros as the Principal of South Mountain Elementary School. Mr. Ontiveros has worked as a school principal in New Mexico and Texas and brings an extensive knowledge of elementary leadership and instructional practices! Welcome to the team!
During the 2023-2024 Spring Semester, the MESD School Board partnered with Cooperative Educational Services and students, staff, administrators, community members and parents to generate ideas and address needs that would help guide the MESD School Board and Superintendent with the development of a three-year Strategic Plan.
A Strategic Plan is a comprehensive document that outlines goals and strategies. It serves as a guiding document for the district's future direction along with a framework to progress monitor and help with decisions of resource allocations.
At this point of the process, the MESD School Board has adopted a Vision, Mission, Values and the Goals. In August, the Board will review the final Strategic Plan. MESD will share future progress updates on our website.

Release times on Wednesdays have changed this year! Starting August 14th, all schools will release 45 minutes early on Wednesdays.

MMS: Just a reminder about 05/29/2024 MMS Awards Ceremonies. 8th graders need to be to school on time. We will walk them over to the PAC to do a practice run through the ceremony. That ceremony will start at 10 am. The 6th and 7th grade Awards Ceremony will start at 12:35 and will be held in the MMS gym. Thanks and we can't wait to see everyone! Lastly, there will be no early release Wednesday tomorrow. We will have a full day of school. You will be able to sign your students out following either of the ceremonies just get with our secretary and registrar, thank you!

MMS: Moriarty Middle School's 8th grade Promotion Ceremony will be held Wednesday, May 29th at 10 am. The ceremony will be held at the Performing Arts Center at Moriarty High School. Please join us as we promote our current 8th graders to freshmen at Moriarty High School!
We will hold an awards assembly at 12:30 pm, Wednesday the 29th in the MMS gym. This awards ceremony is being held so that we can recognize our 6th and 7th graders and their academic achievements from the final Quarter of the school year. We hope to see you then!
