Curriculum & Instruction

As leaders, learners, and partners, the Curriculum and Instruction team supports and empowers all MESD educators in providing intentional instructional best practices and high-quality instructional materials that provide students with relevant, engaging, and purposeful learning. We work in collaboration with staff to engage them in meaningful professional development that supports the development and growth in their profession.

MESD Proficiency Maps & Priority Standards

As the foundation for a guaranteed and viable curriculum, the district has strategically identified Priority Standards in core subject areas through a process that evaluated each standard's level of readiness, rigor, and endurance. Emphasis is placed on the instruction and assessment of our priority standards to ensure that all students achieve grade-level proficiency. Grade level and department teams have also collaborated to create District Proficiency Maps in core subject areas for the current school year, reflecting when course standards will be assessed for student proficiency.
